Dear people of Rotterdam, hear-ye, we would like to informally invite you to a special Extratonal burning of energetic forces at the Buitenplaats on the Brienenoord Island. We are delighted and we are the Postpeople, the curators of this event. There will be real fire. Music. Merriment. Food. Laughs? Come and watch your ego dance in the flames? Please eat with us at the sixth hour of the day (18:00). Entertainment will commence at the seventh hour (19:00) provided by Eothen Stearn, Stéphane Béna Hanly and Arthur Chambry. If you wish to burn your ego in our bonfire, please bring along something you have made or found that represents it.

I'm Eothen Stearn, and I am a visual artist and musician based in Glasgow, UK, who plays in the band Nightshift. I often work with sound, sculpture, and textiles. I have recently been looking at ways in which textiles and sound can coexist. I have exhibited at the Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh; The Freelands Foundation, London; Sissi Club, Marseille and Maison Populaire, Montreuil. Here, in the Netherlands I've shown at WORM, with Short Pieces That Move! and at Omstand in Arnhem. I have a MA from The Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam and a BA from Goldsmiths University. In between these, I attended The School of The Damned.

My name is Stéphane Béna Hanly, I am a Dublin-based multidisciplinary artist working primarily through sculpture and performance. My practice revolves around story telling by animating physical fabricated objects through performative actions turning them into props and set pieces. This process often gives way to unanticipated revelations leading to irresistible immersions into absurd scenarios resulting in further fabrication allowing this cycle of creativity to renew. Previously I broadcast immersive fictional programmes on Dublin Digital Radio (2022) and most recently performed An Experimental Sculptural Demonstration at The Pearse Centre, Dublin (2025).
I'm Arthur Chambry, I'm a multi-instrumentalist, I write and sing songs, I build instruments and play with them in caves, moutains and churchs. I play in a duo with Ugné Vyliaudaité (Sans Âge), in a belgian fanfare (Autotest80.10), with kids (Los Cariños) and other musicians I meet on my way.
This event is made possible with the kind support of Popunie Rotterdam, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Gemeente Rotterdam, Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie and Buitenplaats Brienenoord.
