Following in the footsteps of Riccardo Santalucia's pillowmaking workshop we will test its results during a second offering of cozy drones. A wide range of extratonal drone artists will help you get comfortable and sink into a wonderful world of cushions and padding.
Ardore (Riccardo Santalucia) is a multimedia artist performing live computer music. With his set Esplapira, he is developing a noise-ambient quest toward a maximalist jungle of modulations: it sounds as whales from the deep seas of foreign planets, broadcasted through the technologies of rumbling DIY spacecrafts.
Bat Lúlla (Matthias Hurtl) is a sound artist focused on the audibility, observation, and archival of the inaudible realm. For his Extratonal performance, he works with ultrasonic frequencies, hibernation and feedback systems that drift between rest and self-resonance.
Kaðlín Sara Ólafsdóttir is an Icelandic composer and performer based in The Hague. Kaðlín will perform as a duo with collaborator Toby Kruit, in which they delicately weave together clarinet and vocals with electronics and cassettes to bring out themes of homesickness and belonging.
Mitsitron wants to make queer sounds, to open their heart and granulate environments that have moved them but didn't include them.
Snug Bug is the working title for a new music project by Niek Hilkmann that centers all around stridulation. Unlike the famous grasshopper from Aesop's fable with the ants, he hopes you will welcome his sounds into your heart and won't leave him out in the cold.
This event is made possible with the kind support of CBK Rotterdam, Popunie Rotterdam, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Gemeente Rotterdam and Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
