This year, the Platform for Extratonality) is putting together a series of programs in collaboration with some of its favorite artists. Our next guest is interdisciplinary musician Bernat Boronat, with whom we will explore several extended techniques.
Amos Peled's Phantom Limb is a project exploring the enigmatic and poetic relationship between a human being and the black box that is their interior through the use of a medical ultrasound machine. Amos Peled has been developing methods to perform audio-visual manipulations which transform the ultrasound machine into an instrument that illuminates the inside of the body and expands the space of the artistic act into the organs, under the skin. The work investigates conceptions such as the distance of the human body from the idea of oneself, the hierarchical relationship between the inside and the outside, pain as a poetic message, and the lack of internal symmetry. Phantom Limb is commissioned by iii in collaboration with Rewire, Amare and Tetem.

Bernat Boronat is a clarinetist and improviser based in Rotterdam, with a dedicated focus on exploring extended techniques and new sounds within the bass clarinet and other non-conventional instruments. In his solo work, Bernat pays attention to the inherent qualities of the instrument, enabling them to unfold naturally through assistance rather than rigid control.

rAIN is a dripping wet, steamy, saturated, edm infused healing cavern for lost kids. It’s a cross spatial cross temporal multifaceted audio visual worlding exercise to find, to feel, to express and to hold on to love even when and while everything is falling apart.
This event is made possible with the kind support of Popunie Rotterdam, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Gemeente Rotterdam and Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
